Founding partner and Urca Energia Group director, Maurício Carvalho worked for two decades in the oil and Gas market in Brazil, in the offshore area. During these years, he assisted companies from different countries to start their operations in Brazil, mostly in offshore shipping activities such as: offshore drilling, subsea construction, deep sea saturated diving and logistics. In 2015, he started investing in low carbon initiatives with major thermoelectric projects and renewables in Brazil. Among other relevant projects, he co-developed the largest natural gas power plant in Latin America. In 2018, he founded Urca Energia Group, when Urca Comercializadora de Energia started operating. Currently Urca Energia Group has operations in power and gas trading, renewable energy production from biogas and is the largest biomethane producer in Brazil. Natural entrepreneur, Maurício is married and father of two girls.

Urca Trading managing partner and Urca Energia Group co-founder, Pedro Assumpção worked in a wide range of fields in the financial market and within relevant companies like Banco BTG Pactual. Graduated in Economics, Pedro believes Urca Energia Group has the potential to leave an environmental legacy to the next generation by supporting the transition to a low carbon economy.

Eduardo joined Urca Energia Group in 2020, taking part in the natural gas and biomethane business creation and afterwards becoming Eva Energia’s CEO. Eduardo has substantial experience as an executive in the natural gas sector, having worked for relevant companies such as White Martins, Texaco, Praxair and Baker Hughes. Graduated in Engineering with a MBA degree from PUC and Fundação Dom Cabral, Eduardo is married, father of two and believes in Brazil’s renewable energy potential.
